Arthur, This is a wonderful

Arthur,

This is a wonderful post and I missed this during the two week HadCRU email hack scandal. (I was very busy defending the science on various blogs.)

So McIntyre appeared to be making a very specific allegation against a certain climate scientist, one which was picked up very widely, but then when the details were looked into by everybody involved, he ended up backing off that claim, stating he'd never meant it in the first place. His original statements on the matter could be interpreted several different ways of course, they were ambiguous enough (i.e. nonscientific). What he actually did mean by the whole mess remains a mystery to me, at least.

Well, SM was featured on a Fox News Channel show last night called Global Warming...Or a Lot of Hot Air? SM repeated his attack on Briffa (too few trees) and on Mann (tree-ring methodology flawed) so he certainly has not backed off. Of course, there was no mention that Mann et al. (2008) showed the same hockey stick without using tree rings and that all of that data is freely available.

The show also brought up the "hide the decline", "cannot explain the cooling", and the "fudge factor" source code non-issues from the CRU email hack. Obviously, Fox News either cannot properly investigate or chooses to hide the truth regarding these three items.

Leprechaun gold indeed.
