We have no cookies!

My youngest son (4) loves to browse the videos on the Sesame Street website. It's fun to listen in and watch once in a while, to see what amuses him. One of his favorites recently has been Cookie Monster in the Library (I hope that URL is a stable one - click through to see the video).

Why do I bring this up? Cookie Monster's comical insistence on asking for "a box of cookies" from the librarian reminds me of some other folks who just never seem to get the point. We try our hardest to be patient around here, and while I think I do better than Cookie Monster's librarian, I know my patience isn't as great as that of many others. My good friend Joel Shore, for instance, seems to somehow have a far higher nonsense-toleration level. Anyway, if you ever run into statements of mine that seem to indicate I'm upset or angry about something somebody else keeps insisting on, think "box of cookies". I'll try thinking of it too, it might help...
